Doug works with companies in the areas of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), Technology-Enabled Services and Business Services. In addition, he leads Harbor View’s Human Capital Management (HCM) industry practice, focusing on businesses providing software and services that enable organizations to create competitive advantage through their people.

Prior to joining Harbor View, Doug was Vice President, Corporate Development of Vurv Technology, where he was responsible for mergers and acquisitions, capital sourcing activities and managing all relationships with Wall Street research analysts, investment bankers and private equity firms. From 2005 to 2008, Doug helped the company grow revenue by 300% while executing two strategic acquisitions, leading Vurv through a large capital raising process, IPO preparation and ultimately its sale to Taleo Corporation (Nasdaq: TLEO) in July 2008.

Prior to joining Vurv, Doug was a founding member of Thomas Weisel Partners’ $255 million venture capital division, Thomas Weisel Venture Partners (TWVP). While at TWVP, Doug supported growth capital investments in enterprise software businesses and later joined EXIT41, a TWVP investment and portfolio company, as a Sales and Account Management executive. Prior to joining TWVP, Doug was an investment banker at Thomas Weisel Partners (TWP) in San Francisco, where he was one of TWP’s first employees and participated in the establishment and growth of the Internet, Business Services and Media investment banking groups. During his tenure at TWP, the company grew from a start-up to a global investment bank with more than $500 million in revenue and over 800 employees. Prior to joining TWP, Doug was an investment banker in the Business Services group at Montgomery Securities in San Francisco.

Doug received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University. He was also a member of Stanford’s varsity baseball team. He is registered with FINRA and holds Series 7, 24, 63 and 79 licenses.
